The words of the Artist: Cesare Catania on display in Aosta until March 15th <\/strong> < \/ p> <\/p>\n

Great success for the new Cesare Catania <\/strong> exhibition inaugurated on Friday 28 February in Aosta <\/strong>. Five in total the masterpieces on display until March 15 <\/strong> in the Finaosta <\/strong> exhibition space, the art gallery owned by the regional financial company of the autonomous region of Valle D’Aosta which has the main purpose of promoting the socio-economic development of the area, including art and culture. <\/p>\n

Two contemporary art sculptures by the Italian artist, entitled \u201c The Bocca dell’Etna <\/ strong> “(B and C Version – 2017), already exhibited in the past, among others, at the Museum of the Villa Reale in Monza under the supervision of the director Piero Addis and in the Principality of Monaco. <\/p>\n

two sculptures made of steel, silicone and acrylic, which from February 28th are visible from the windows of Via Festaz as well as visiting the exhibition inside the exhibition spaces. “… at the very moment in which I imagined these sculptures, even before designing them and then making them, I realized that artistic inspiration and aesthetic taste were all merging together, in a single object … at that moment the mouth of the volcano was becoming the pretext to synthesize in a single work of art both the love for geometry and the attraction for the irrational and for asymmetry\u2026 \u201dthus explains the Author <\/strong> referring to the diptych on display. <\/p>\n

To these two sculptures is added a three-dimensional painting, made with the same technique as the previous sculptures, i.e. mixing silicone and acrylic (in this case with yellow and black tones), giving life to a painting that literally comes out of the canvas; it is a revised version of a previous work called \u201c Il Taglio <\/strong>\u201d (2017), another three-dimensional painting in which the artist wanted to deepen the synthetic strength that can represent a single stroke on a canvas. <\/p>\n

The exhibition continues with a limited edition print and retouched by hand by the artist (entitled “ Woman with Book <\/strong>“), print whose award value at the last bar at the end of October 2019 was more than 15,000 euros. <\/p>\n

This joke confirms the positive trend and strong rise in the prices of the Italian artist as well as in the international ranking of artists according to Artfacts, one of the most authoritative sources used by experts in evaluating works of art. <\/p>\n

Finally on display a contemporary art masterpiece: “ Trois Hommes <\/strong>“, oil on canvas tapestry more than two meters high and medium, painted with a palette knife and retouched with a pad. It is a work that combines art and science, informal and cubism, symmetry and imagination. <\/p>\n

“This is one of the works of art that best represents me …” so continues l ‘Author <\/strong> \u201c\u2026 art and science seem suspended here in mid-air, in a perfect chromatic and morphological balance\u201d. In this oiled canvas, Cesare Catania represents what for him are the cornerstones of ancient and modern science, the figures who according to the artist’s vision changed the world we live in: Pythagoras, Avogadro and Heisenberg. <\/p>\n

< p> “The three characters spin around in the canvas as if they belonged to the same historical moment … the numbers that fly in their Universe represent the numerical constants that made them famous and that have radically changed scientific thought and therefore indirectly our approach to reality\u2026 \u201d. <\/p>\n

The tapestry has already been exhibited in prestigious places, including at Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan. The curatorship of the exhibition was entrusted to the architect Claudia Mantelli, curator who among others has already organized in the past in the same location the collective exhibition entitled “ Seductions <\/strong>“, which recently followed the exhibition entitled “Le Hidden Truths “at the Pisacane Arte gallery in Milan and which is currently developing the artistic project entitled” The Dreamers <\/strong> “, a path that includes a collective exhibition at the same exhibition spaces of Finaosta as well as the personal exhibition of Cesare Catania just described. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
