Description:

During a summer evening the Artist is in the garden under a large wooden patio. A woman sits on a rocking chair, one of those chairs in natural rope hanging from the top of a wooden beam. The woman is quiet and relaxed, with her head “in the clouds“.

Precisely for this reason, in this painting Cesare Catania represents the woman holding her head in her hands, symbolizing the lightness in a thoughtless moment of summer. On the bottom right there are aloe plants and on the upper left an artificial round light source.

The color definition and stiffness of the crayon on paper are tempered and softened by a lava of acrylic, making the scene “soft and relaxed”, just like the protagonist’s mood.
