contemporary art
Tapestries
“… when you paint on a raw canvas, whether with oil or acrylic, you appreciate all the immediacy of contemporary art… There are no filters given by the technique, by the preparation of the canvas, but only the imagination mixed with immediacy of the trait…”
(Cesare Catania)
Given the significant size of the canvases used, the contemporary artist, in the execution of his tapestries, first creates a preparatory drawing and then moves directly to the canvas without further steps, first drawing the raw fabric and then coloring it with spatulas and brushes.
