The second of the 5 new sculptures is called “I Canali”, which shortly follows the production of the first entitled “I Sestieri”. Already in this last sculpture some red channels were represented inlaid on pear wood. Now conceptually it is as if the author zoomed in on the canals themselves, focusing all his attention on the energy charge of the waterways that cross the city of Venice.

The channels change color depending on the color of the sky and the position of the sun in relation to the city. Similarly, the sculpture in Catania changes color based on how the sun filters through the glass produced in Murano. This is the artist’s first experience in the land of glass, an experience that led him to personally create the circular crowns that embellish his artistic work in the furnace.

The channels are represented by fire-red Catania precisely because of the energetic value that the author himself attributes to it. They then have blue-gold and blue-mud reflections depending on the position from which they are observed.
