AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
A Dialogue between Art and the Mediterranean
“The Heart of the Earth” is a monumental phygital sculpture by Italian contemporary artist Cesare Catania.
Installed facing the Mediterranean Sea at the Port of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the artwork invites the public to experience a unique immersive journey where art, technology and nature meet.
Through augmented reality, the sculpture comes to life and reveals an invisible world: a dialogue between the earth, the sea and the creatures that inhabit it.
Through the dialogue between monumental sculpture, light and augmented reality, “The Heart of the Earth” draws attention to the fragile relationship between humanity, nature and marine ecosystems. The presence of the digital whale becomes a symbol of balance, memory and connection with the oceans, transforming the artwork into an invitation to rediscover the value of the sea and natural ecosystems as treasures to preserve for future generations.

AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
When Sculpture Transcends Matter
“The Heart of the Earth” is a monumental phygital sculpture conceived as a system of tensions between geometry, balance and perception. The suspended forms and reflective surfaces create an apparently unstable structure supported by a precise equilibrium between art, matter and engineering.
“The Heart of the Earth” by Cesare Catania explores the relationship between structural balance, inner energy and the transformation of matter.
Through augmented reality and immersive experience, the artwork transcends the physical limits of traditional sculpture, becoming a dynamic visual organism capable of interacting with the public through contemporary art, technology and phygital storytelling.
The Geometry of Balance
Cesare Catania’s artistic research emerges from the encounter between creative intuition and structural rigor. Each monumental sculpture is conceived as a system of forces, balances and tensions where geometry, perception and matter coexist within a dynamic relationship.
Through the integration of contemporary art, engineering and phygital languages, the artwork goes beyond pure aesthetics to become a spatial experience, transforming sculpture into an organism capable of interacting with the public, the environment and light.
